Welcome.
You are safe here.

I want you to know you are cared for and safe with me. I am LGBTQ identifying and working to understand my own experience of the world. I am actively using my voice and position as a person and therapist to advocate for dignity, equity, rights and celebration of all people, genders, and relationships. I celebrate queerness and I am glad you are here.

queerness and therapy

I am passionate about helping to support and heal the trauma that LGBTQ folks unfortunately experience as marginalized people in our world. These experiences shape our view of ourselves, and our view of love. I will invite you to address the impact that homophobia, transphobia and heteronormativity has had on your life.

Therapy can help you to heal from those childhood experiences and internalized beliefs that no longer serve you. I will support you in stepping into your best self.

A note to parents of queer children:

Research shows that β€œLGBTQ youth who report having at least one accepting adult were 40% less likely to report a suicide attempt in the past year”. Be that person. If you struggle to be that person, come work it out in therapy with me.

LGBTQ+ clients deserve therapists who are intimately familiar with the particularities of how queer and trans people live, love, creative and contribute to the world. This requires specific and rigorous education and sensitivity, awareness of ancient queer and trans historical culture and also of the impact of heterosexist and cissexist parenting (which is to say abuse) on the functioning queer and trans person. It also involves the working hypothesis that there is a spirit informing the individuation of LGBTQ people on which the future of our society depends.
