What does it mean that you’re a Marriage & Family Therapist (MFT)?

This means that I specifically got my Master’s degree in “Marriage & Family Therapy” and am Licensed by AZ as a “Marriage & Family Therapist”. More specifically, what this means is that I have extensive training and experience with working with relationships. Marriage & Family Therapists take what’s called a “systemic approach” where we see your symptoms through a lens of greater context. MFTs take a holistic perspective to health care; they are concerned with the overall, long-term well-being of individuals and their families and greater communities.

How long is each session?

A ‘therapy hour’ is 50 minutes. I stick to the 50 minute hour for couples sessions, but for individuals I offer two time options, 55 minutes or 45 minutes.

In order to make the most of our session time together, I prefer my clients to schedule through the portal online and e-mail me regarding administrative details.

Can I request a longer session?

Yes, we can collaborate around what timing seems best for you and your individual situation. If we plan to meet less frequently, longer sessions may be appropriate.

What are your fees?

My fee is $170/50min for couples therapy, and $150/55min for individual therapy.

I take private pay at this time which includes cash, Health Savings Accounts, and cards (VISA, Mastercard, American Express and Discover). A sliding scale rate is available for POC and LGBTQ+ upon request.

Do you take insurance?

I am happy to offer a receipt that you can submit to your insurance company to see if they might partially reimburse you for your sessions. Please note that unfortunately some insurances do not cover couples therapy

What’s your cancelation policy?

I have a 24 hour cancelation policy for all intake appointments. Because the time is reserved for you, if you late cancel or no show the time cannot be filled with another client who may have wanted to spot. For established clients, I do always give once free pass on the cancelation policy if something comes up, and I’m always happy to be flexible if I’m able to honor a rescheduled time. Generally, I just ask for your consideration of my time and I will do the same for you!

I don’t live in Tennessee, Arizona, or north carolina, Can I work with you?

Yes and no. Though I am only able to offer therapy to clients who live in Tennessee, Arizona, and North Carolina, I am now offering Educated focused Coaching sessions virtually to folks living in the US (upon assessment that this is an appropriate fit for your goals). Coaching/Education Sessions is not a substitution for therapy, but may be another resource in your journey if you resonate with me and would like my support.
